This RFP aims to deliver new simulations of current GeoMIP experiments to increase the number and variety of models participating in GeoMIP.

We are offering grants to modeling centers to run GeoMIP7 stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI) experiments and/or the CMIP6 G6- counterparts, in earth system models with the capability to do so. Funding for groups running models which have not recently contributed GeoMIP simulations will be prioritized, and groups from the Global South are highly encouraged to apply.

Proposals for phase 1 are due by November 2nd, 2026; Phase 2 by January 18th 2027.

This RFP is designed to help address this research activity on the SAI Research Roadmap.
